Uses
The process is already used to dry natural gases (propane, butane,LPG) or synthetic (vinyl chloride, methylene chloride) and for the dehydration of the solvents (Benzene, Tetrahydrofurane (THF), Dichloromethane (DCM), azeotropic mixtures and others). Moreover alkaline properties of caustic soda and caustic potash confer them capacities of desulphurization, decarbonation and neutralization of the mercaptans and acid compounds
This technology presents many advantages compared to the other ones existing, like the simplicity of the process, reducing maintenance and the absence of emissions of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) which are the main origin of industrial pollution. In addition to this, the simplicity of equipment implies a limited material investment and a great simplicity of implementation.
